In days of old, a business card will contain 2 pieces of the most important information. The name and the contact number or the person giving out the card. When the Internet was invented, another 2 piece of information was added and that was, the email and if the person has one, a web site URL.

After the Internet became a part of live and every goddamn living person has a computer, business cards to started to evolve into something high tech. The future lies with the guy who can come out with the first touch screen smart digital business card which can store data like a mini computer. Everything concerning the company can be stored and displayed to anyone holding such a card. Before you know it, the card will have the ability to access the Net and by using the card, one can get into direct contact with the company.

Now since this is a few years down the road, the best alternative now is of course a web site or a weblog to display all those info. Under normal cases, the URL printed on a business card will lead to a normal company website. As this site is the front line of doing any business today, companies pays thousands of dollar for professional web designers to implement the mots presentable site they could afford.

But what about those budding businessman with a shoestring budget and who could not pay such enormous fees? Most make do with a cheap blog or a site designed by themselves. Like it or not, a cheap looking site does more harm than good for your business. It hurts your reputation to the core.
