Posted: 11 May 2010 11:12 PM PDT If you haven’t heard, Google has made her foray into Affiliate Networking.Though products related to my niche seems to be lacking at the moment, I will safely assume Google, being Google, will not take too long in getting all major Advertisers on board their affiliate network. For those who already have an Adsense account, joining the Affiliate network should not be too much of a hassle. Applications are approved within 24 hours and immediately after that, you can start applying to join the affiliate programs available. Whether you are accepted or not will be up to the Advertiser. Like all other networks, some Advertisers will want to review your sites first. Some however, give you instant and automatic approval. At present, all programs are CPAs. Hopefully as time goes by, though unlikely, CPC programs will be offered, reason being, CPC Ads will be in direct conflict with Adsense. CPA commissions are much more difficult to score as it entails buying. The other more attractive kind of Ads would be Pay Per Lead. I have seen some really lucrative ones but all are limited to countries like the US or UK. It has long been rumored, though never proven, that if you run something from Google in your site, be it Adsense, YouTube videos and now the Affiliate Network, Google will crawl your blog and index your contents much faster. You will also get better search rankings. It does sound sensible. The more traffic Google brings to a blog that is making money for them, the more they will make. Mind you though, this are just rumors, but sometimes, rumors does hold some truth. Just in case it’s true. I have inserted a banner from the Network in my blog here, so even if I fail to convert, there is a chance of increased visibility. Another thing is, I predict in a few months time, there will be many smart arses who will be writing and marketing eBooks about “How To Make Money From Google Affiliate Network.” Then there will be webinars and seminars, e-courses, membership sites etc etc. Giant companies always create a long list of spin off industries whenever they launch something new. What more with the Google name.
